DöBra is based on partnerships with different stakeholders. The various projects are run in collaboration with other academic partners, as well as with the targetgroups, their own associations, and a number of other social actors.

The Dementia Association
The Dementia Association (Demensförbundet) is a non-profit disability association and the largest organization in Sweden that works to improve the conditions for those with dementia and their families, both centrally and locally. The association carries out support activities in local dementia associations across Sweden.

Glesbygdsmedicinsk centrum
Glesbygdsmedicinsk centrum (GMC) is a research and development unit in primary care for Västerbotten County Council in southern Lapland. The purpose of the unit is to increase the knowledge of how to best meet the healthcare and care needs for the population in Västerbotten, and throughout Sweden, and to increase the recruitment of doctors and other professional healthcare professionals to the rural areas.

Karolinska Institutet
Karolinska Institutet is one of the world’s foremost medical universities. Our vision is to make a significant contribution to the improvement of human health. The majority of the researchers in the DöBra program are part of the Division of Innovative Care Research at the Department of Learning, Informatics, Management and Ethics where research focuses on management, organization, leadership and innovation in healthcare.

The Lung Cancer Association is an independent, ideal association for patients, relatives, and professionals. The association is both for supporting and encouraging its members, and for working against lung cancer, in collaboration with researchers, for example.

The Network against cancer is a national cooperative non-profit organization that works for all those affected by cancer, regardless of diagnosis. The network’s vision is a cancer-free society, offering all the same opportunities for prevention, diagnosis, treatment, health and social care, rehabilitation, palliative care and social security.

The Swedish National Pensioners’ Organisation (PRO) is Sweden’s largest and most active social movements. The organization exerts an influence on major social issues and targets decision-makers and political bodies on issues that are important to the elderly. The overall goal is to ensure that life as a pensioner is more fun and rewarding.

SFO-V
The Strategic Research Area of ​Health Sciences (SFO-V) is a collaboration between Karolinska Institutet and Umeå University in order to strengthen and develop the interaction between health care science research and healthcare activities through research funding and seminar activities.

Umeå Universitet
Umeå University is one of the country’s largest universities. Some researchers in the DöBra program are affiliated with both KI and the Nursing Department at Umeå University. The department is within the Faculty of Medicine and has a major undergraduate education program with a total of 15 educational programs in four locations – Lycksele, Skellefteå, Umeå, and Örnsköldsvik.
